Important Tree Damage

Updated: Aug 5, 2024

A Note from The Board of Directors about Tree Trimming - July 2024

With the monsoons upon us, Sonoran Desert Willow Estates has already felt the impact

of the season’s severe weather. We are working closely with the Association’s landscaping and management teams to address the cleanup in our common areas, and we want to extend our support to homeowners as well.

Assisting homeowners in safeguarding their properties by reducing potential hazards during this rainy period is important to us, and crucial to the overall wellbeing of our community. To support our residents in staying safe without incurring high residential arbor costs, we have arranged a group discount with Landtamers Landscaping for professional arbor services. They are offering one-time commercial pricing to homeowners in Sonoran Desert Willow Estates in need of arbor services following this week’s storm. Preventative services are also

available at commercial pricing as well. For more information, please contact Andrea at Andrea@platinumonline.org or Lyndsie at Lyndsie@platinumonline.org. Estimates will vary based on the size and scope of work requested. Please submit your request for an estimate through end of year 2024.

Monsoon season brings unpredictable weather and potential hazards. By staying proactive and vigilant, we can minimize the risks and keep our community a safe and attractive place to live. Your cooperation and proactive efforts are greatly appreciated.

OTHER ADVICE AND WAY TO HELP DURING THIS MONSOON SEASON

 TRIM/REMOVE WAYWARD & POTENTIALLY DANGEROUS TREES AS SOON AS POSSIBLE SAFETY FIRST: AVOID HANDLING, CUTTING, AND/OR REMOVING LARGE TREES AND/OR HEAVY BRANCHES YOURSELF. CONTACT A PROFESSIONAL TO SAFELY REMOVE THEM. FOR LARGE TREES & TREES NEAR POWER LINES/HOMES & DRIVEWAYS, ALWAYS HIRE A CERTIFIED ARBORIST.

 CLEAR DEBRIS AS SOON AS POSSIBLE: If you have fallen limbs or debris on your property, you’ll want to remove it as soon as possible to prevent further hazards.

 HELP A NEIGHBOR: This season is bound to become a challenging task for some residents. We encourage able bodied neighbors to reach out to those in need. Keeping up with these winds and rain is going to be a community effort. If you are interested in joining in on this neighborhood initiative, please reach out and let us know. We may know a few neighbors in need of a helping hand.

 KEEP ONGOING PREVENTION IN MIND THROUGHOUT MONSOON SEASON:

Regular tree maintenance can prevent future storm damage. Weak or overhanging branches that could threaten homes or nearby structures should be removed. Ensuring trees stay neatly pruned and trimmed helps to prevent falling branches (even the small branches) that could potentially damage property/pose risks to residents. Additionally, regular trimming and maintenance promotes new growth and prevents disease, and it contributes to the beauty of our community and enhances property values in the long run. So, it’s always a good idea to inspect you property and keep an eye out for any possible damaged or overhanging branches on a weekly basis. It’s also a good move to schedule trimming in advance, and arrange for professional trimming services as soon as possible, before limbs have a chance to get out of hand.
